Since we have gone through several transitions and made some tremendous changes, we thought it would be helpful to give you a small historical narrative along with our vision for the future.
Our Core Values:
Christ, Biblical Truth, Integrity,
Love, Witness, and Faithfulness
Biblical Leadership Institute (Incorporated at 2007 as Evangelical University & Seminary) continues with its eight year now providing new opportunities. Our newsletter and our web domain, www.BiblicalLeadership.Institue gives you the information about the various organizations joining together to provide our educational opportunities. Currently officers of the school include Dr. Daniel L. Morris, Sr. president; Dr. Randall Miller, Academic Affairs Consultant; Linda Dougherty, Administrative Consultant; Dr. Robert Franklin, treasurer; Mrs. Karen Herndon, Bookkeeper and Student Records Assistant. The BLI Executive Committee includes Lynn Houser, Linda Dougherty, Steve Turbeville, and Dr. Randall Miller.
Other lists of Pastors, professors, trustees, and advisory council serving BLI is available on the web site. This information along with courses and training opportunities may change monthly. The school is more connected with local churches and makes a priority of providing practicums, special training, courses, and certificates to help any and all pastors, staff, church leaders and laity in the today’s churches. We are partnering with churches, agencies or Institutions across central Florida to provide the very best training. As Baptists, we connect with the Florida Baptist Convention and other Baptist Associations. However, we seek to involve and connect with the larger evangelical community. Our major theme is being the Great Commission School. Our desire is to equip Christian church and community leaders with excellent training to provide the Lord with servants and opportunities to bring more people into His Kingdom. Every second two people die and many of them have not heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You can see our mission statement, vision statement and core values on the front page of our web page.
We Equip Men and Women for Christian Service
through Higher Professional Biblical Education
June of 2014 we begin using the Biblical Leadership Institute trade name as our public identity of Evangelical University and Seminary, Inc. and added training events, seminars, and practicum courses to meet the broader needs of all men and women. We focus on courses and certificate programs for all ministers, staff, and church leaders desiring continual education. We encourage every Christian to take at least one course each year from BLI. These courses are in addition to the regular 3 hour academic courses offered by Evangelical University and Seminary Founded in 2007. God has provided additional support on a monthly basis through the Shiloh Baptist Association to keep the school moving forward and provide the extra studies. The core values of BLI fit into the core values of Shiloh Baptist Association and we are able to meet broad training needs of local pastors, staff, and church leaders.
We are Christ centered, church connected,
and community minded
as we equip the body of Christ to be:
·Grounded in biblical truth
·Living a victorious life, and
·Impacting their world with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In addition to the Biblical Leadership Institute, we brought a partnership with Shiloh Baptist Association’s Peoples Life Institute (originally called Plant City Community Ministries.) This is the organization that our forty churches and the Plant City Community established as a ministry in 2013. Their mission is to help people in crises get the guidance and assistance they need to move beyond the crisis and on to a healthy, stable next level. Over seventeen hundred individuals and families have been guided through very difficult times while hearing the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Since it is an organization with volunteer advocates that help equip people through a crisis in life and move to a healthy, stable foundation, we gave it the new name (PLI) Peoples Life Institute. The organization is a ministry by all of our Baptist churches under the Association and has Director Irene Wright and office manager, Crystal Copeland. It is located at 103 Johnson Road, Plant City 33566 and is open Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The organization is an outreach by the local churches and receives no government funds. We are not apologetic about sharing the gospel with every client and encouraging each to join a local evangelical church.
